ARTIST BIOGRAPHY       Yvonne M. Ward is originally from New York. Since childhood, she has led a creative life.  She painted, made handcrafts, sang and studied ballet, modern dance, jazz and theatre.  "Art has always been an integral and important part of my life and a motivating force in everything I do."   Yvonne took classes in various art forms throughout her life and while raising her family.  Yvonne is currently a mother of a vibrant, bright and active teenager.     In 1978, Yvonne graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree in psychology.  It was in college where she had her first art exhibition featuring her charcoal and graphite drawings.  Years later, Yvonne attended graduate school and received her Masters and Doctorate degrees in psychology.  Her doctoral dissertation  was all about creativity and how it related to divergent thinking and to figurative language usage in particular.     Years later, Yvonne took a watercolor class at the New York Botanical Garden and later on became self-taught in pastel painting. She is primarily a  watercolorist and pastelist because these are her favorite painting mediums.  Recently, she has been reproducing her artwork as postcards and art note cards but also plans on producing prints of her artwork in the near future.  Yvonne has also begun her foray into sacred art which she believes can inspire people spiritually and help draw others to God.
